The 2010 Lexus GX 460 is powered by an all-new 4.6-liter V8 that is both more powerful and more efficient than the 4.7-liter V8 it replaces. The new engine produces 301 horsepower and 329 lb.-ft. of peak torque, and is teamed to a new six-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift. Combined city/highway fuel economy is improved by 13 percent to an EPA-estimated 17 mpg (vs. 15 mpg in the 2009 GX 470) — better than other V8 luxury utility vehicles and competitive with some six-cylinder models. Using Maybach’s supplied German prices, the 57 Zeppelin commands €406,000, or about $524,000, and the 62 Zeppelin costs €473,000, or roughly $610,000. (Those prices represent premiums of about $50,000, before German taxes.) If you can’t stomach the thought of spending so little on a car that 99 other people will have—that’s soooo déclassé—can we suggest you petition Maybach to create a Landaulet Zeppelin? That should run about $1.5 million or more, and at this point would be a limited-edition of exactly one.

The Zeppelin will be offered for sale beginning this summer with the first deliveries slated for January 2010.

The Porsche 911 GT3 R is powered by a six-cylinder ‘boxer’ engine of four-litres capacity, which delivers a maximum output of 480 bhp (353 kW) transmitted to the rear axle by a sequential six-speed ‘dog-type’ gearbox.

The starting point in developing the Porsche 911 GT3 R, which weighs just 1,200 kg (2,646 lb), was the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, that was first presented at the Frankfurt Show in September and which will compete in the Porsche Supercup supporting selected Formula One races in 2010. However, thanks to its increase in engine size by 200 cc, the Porsche GT3 R offers 30 bhp more than the Cup model. Both cars are based on the 911 GT3 RS road car, which goes on sale in February next year.
